Construction Laborers (Entry Level to Skilled)


Construction Laborers are responsible for performing physical labor while assisting with heavy construction duties at civil, mining, quarry and maintenance jobsite locations. We are looking for Entry Level to Skilled labor at multiple site locations. 

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs physical labor work as assigned by the Superintendent or Facility Manager at the jobsite.
  • Unloads and carries materials at jobsites.
  • Use rakes, shovels and small power tools at jobsites.
  • Clean up on jobsites to include break areas, restrooms, trash, sweeping and mopping.
  • Grass mowing, weed eating, blowing, laying sod, planting, spraying weed killer, trimming, etc.
  • Flagging traffic.
  • Performs various other jobsite duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn.
  • Must be self-motivated and work productively.
  • Have physical strength, endurance and work well with your hands.
  • Have a good attitude and ability to follow instructions and safety rules is important.
  • Adheres to all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, including but not limited to the safety manual, and the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.
  • Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet or computer to manage company information and documents.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience on a construction jobsite a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures in the field – hot and cold.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, refuse and dirt in trucks, as well as, landfill, industrial and civil, powerplant site locations.
  • Loud noise levels.
  • Other risks associated with working around heavy machines, tools and trucks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stands: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
  • Walks: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
  • Drive: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
  • Lift/Carry 0-10 lbs.: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
  • Lift/Carry 10-50 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours daily
  • Reach Above: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours daily
  • Bend/Stoop: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
  • Use Hands for Manipulations: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
  • Vision Abilities: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
